One of IB Systems' ongoing projects for Jaworzno Power Plant is a contract signed on 30 November 2017 with Elektrobudowa SA, for the comprehensive construction of low-current installations for a 910MW supercritical power unit adapted for future carbon dioxide reduction. (A power unit is a complex of new equipment, installations and buildings forming a functional whole).

The scope of work carried out by our Company includes the installation of systems:

  • voice announcement system (DSO)
  • CCTV
  • access control
  • fire detection and signalling
  • control of fixed fire-fighting equipment
  • hydrogen detection

The work started in November 2017 and was completed in December 2019.

‘The unit will be adapted to meet stringent environmental standards, significantly reducing emissions of harmful substances. The unit, with a net efficiency of 45.9%, is being built using supercritical coal-fired technology with a power lead-out via a 400 kV line, connected to the National Power System. The unit will generate up to 6.5 TWh of electricity annually, corresponding to the demand of 2.5 million households. Upon completion of the investment, due to an over 10% increase in efficiency compared to the units commissioned in the 1970s and 1980s, 2 million fewer tonnes of CO2 will be released into the atmosphere, and as part of the requirements of climate policy, the unit will be adapted for the construction of a CO2 capture from flue gas (CCS ready) installation.’
